Print Height: With the optional vertical axis extension set, the wallPen is extremely flexible, as it can be extended in 5 cm (2″) increments. The minimum setup height is 1.7 meters (5 ft 7″), and the maximum is 4 meters (13 ft). Print Width: Unlimited. Due to the limitations of inkjet technology, there are margins in corners near adjacent walls, the floor, and the ceiling. These are approximately: Left: 6 cm (2.3″) Right: 10 cm (3.3″) Top: 25 cm (9.8″) Bottom: 25 cm (9.8″)
You can print virtually any graphic, sketch, image, logo, or text! This means AI, EPS, TIF, PNG, JPG, and BMP files are generally no problem. Even very small text and colorful logos next to or on doors and in hallways are possible. The device is also an ideal signage solution for businesses, schools, hospitals, hotels, museums, and many other institutions. You can even print from paper originals! Using a simple flatbed scanner, we’ve already achieved fantastic results by scanning at high resolution. Processing and printing old templates, maps, drawings, postcards, sketches, photos, or paintings works perfectly, and the results are truly impressive. With just a few clicks, paper originals can be transformed into large-scale wall art!
Yes. An integrated floor-leveling system compensates for uneven floors. Laser sensors detect wall irregularities of up to 10 cm (3.3″) in real time, and the printhead dynamically adjusts to the wall's surface during operation.
We use a highly durable, plastic-like UV ink that cures instantly under the integrated UV curing lamps and can be used on almost any surface. This allows for printing on plaster, wallpaper, wood, brick, latex paint, stone, clinker, plastic, metal, glass, most types of tiles, and many other materials — often without any issues. Even natural stone, clinker, or textured plaster can generally be printed without problems, up to a surface contour depth of approximately 10 mm.
The wallPen’s printing speed ranges between approximately 0.8 and 10 m² per hour, depending on the selected quality and resolution. In practice, a speed of around 2 to 3 m² per hour provides an ideal balance between time and print quality for most applications.
Of course! On glass, prints can be removed using a ceramic cooktop scraper or a razor blade. Otherwise, a print can simply be painted over in two or three coats at any time. Only on wood, sanding is required — and for materials like metal or concrete, removal typically involves sandblasting, cork blasting, dry ice blasting, or glass bead blasting.
